Rachel specialises in statutory planning matters. She also has experience in preparing and managing a wide range of development applications, as well as providing assistance to private clients in resolving complex land use compliance issues.

Rachel graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning with Honours in 2012. During university, she spent three years as a student town planner with Urbis in Brisbane, mainly involved in the preparation of development applications for inner-city development and telecommunication infrastructure.

At the beginning of 2013, Rachel traded the City for regional life after securing a graduate town planning position in the Rockhampton office of the former Flinders Group. Rachel’s keen interest in statutory planning and development assessment was complemented by her primary responsibility in the preparation and management of development applications. She has since facilitated a diverse range of development approvals in Rockhampton, Gracemere, Yeppoon and surrounding areas for projects spanning residential, commercial and industrial development.

With confidence in her ability to co-ordinate and provide advice on regional town planning matters, Rachel joined Reel Planning CQ as a Town Planner in 2015. During the first three months at the firm, Rachel gained local government planning experience with “in-house” development assessment work undertaken for Central Highlands Regional Council.

Rachel’s professional experience in Central Queensland has informed her in-depth understanding of State and local town planning legislation, and her commitment to navigating this complex regulatory landscape on behalf of private sector clients and their development aspirations.
